Marvin Overstreet (Mobby) is in the process of developing some training runs so people can get together and train for ultra trail runs like Mississippi Trail 50. He is also interested in some input about a Celebration Run to recognize the completion of the Longleaf Trace Rails to Trails from Prentiss, MS to Hattiesburg, MS, which is approximately 41 miles. If you have any questions about the training runs, or input about the run on the Trace this Fall please contact Mobby at 426-2465 (he is technically handicapped and does not have e-mail) Below are some photos supposedly taken by Mobby on his running trails: High Jumps: Everyone should have the ability to negotiate high jumps in case of a coiled up Timber Rattle Snake. If he is just sunning on a rock, you would not have to jump as high.
Running Cabin: Running Cabin in the woods. Reservations required.
Water Crossings: Small streams and creeks will have to be crossed in training runs.
Elevation: Some trails are technical with elevation gains and downhill rocky terrain.
Be forewarned that if you go running with Mobby you will have to put up with a couple of dogs slobbering (or worse) all over you, your vehicle, and any food or drink you leave in easy reach. He takes Varmit and Killer with him wherever he goes. This photo shows them just after their biannual bath and grooming.
There are exotic flowers to be seen
